Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using ChordGhost ("we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use our services. ChordGhost is operated from the United States, and these Terms are governed by the laws of the United States.

2. Description of Service

ChordGhost is a subscription-based web application that generates MIDI chord progressions, melodies, and 808 basslines, and allows users to preview and export those MIDI files for use in digital audio workstations (DAWs). Our paid subscription plan costs $9.99 per month and provides unlimited MIDI generations and DAW exports, subject to fair-use limitations to prevent abuse.

3. Accounts and Billing

To access the paid features of ChordGhost, you must create an account and subscribe to our monthly plan. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge $9.99 per month to your selected payment method until you cancel. Subscriptions can be canceled at any time directly within your account settings or by contacting support.

Upon cancellation, your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing cycle, after which access to paid features will end. See our Refund Policy for information regarding refunds.

4. Ownership of Generated Content

You retain 100% of the copyrights to any MIDI files you generate using ChordGhost. We make no claim of ownership over the content you create with our tools, and you are free to use, distribute, sell, and license your generated MIDI files without any obligation to ChordGhost. This ownership grant is subject to your compliance with these Terms.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use ChordGhost for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise extract the source code or underlying algorithms of the application.
• Resell, sublicense, or redistribute access to the ChordGhost service itself.
• Use automated systems to overload, disrupt, or impair the service.
• Share your account credentials with others.

6. Intellectual Property

The ChordGhost application, including its software, design, branding, and music theory engine, is the intellectual property of ChordGhost and is protected by United States and international copyright laws. The MIDI content you generate is yours, but the tool and platform itself remain our property.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

ChordGhost is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the generated MIDI content will be musically suitable, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose. You are solely responsible for evaluating the quality and suitability of any content you generate.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ChordGhost shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the service. Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the three (3) months preceding the claim.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may cancel your subscription at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the service ends immediately, though you retain ownership of any MIDI files you previously generated and downloaded.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via email or within the application. Continued use of ChordGhost after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
